The Ornate Wilderness of Life

striving for health, joy, and prosperity in the creative life

I’m in a phase of simplifying my environment. Some of this includes decluttering and selling un-used items. Another aspect includes using up existing supplies and finishing long-ago-set-aside projects. Today I pulled out a copper vessel, originally created as a raising class demo piece. I was looking for simple ways to enhance the surface and finish it off. I no longer have large metalforming stakes, so I decided to hammer in form using the tension/hardness of the metal and the air behind it. I love this process of following invisible lines of energy with a rhythmic and obsessive tapping.
